No matter how you feel about the wars our nation is fighting (and I am one that has been opposed to the war in Iraq from very early on), the men and women in the military who sacrificially serve in defense of our country deserve our heart-felt gratitude and appreciation. Because of my father’s service in the military and that of my brother-in-law and others I know, I have a special place in my heart for those who serve and especially for the families they leave behind. To all of them, I offer my very sincere “thank you.”
