I passed this Smart Car on the way to work this morning and had to take a picture* (for the girls if for no one else). They are kinda cute, certainly quite novel and I’m sure they get great gas mileage. It’s easily less than half the size of my Honda Odyssey and I have no doubt it’s much easier to maneuver through traffic and park in tight spaces. But I can’t help but wonder how these cars would fare in a highway speed wreck. I don’t think it would be pretty — for the car or its occupant.

Even so, this car certainly seems to have plenty of enthusiasts.
