Downtown Living Tour - Part 3

The next stop on our downtown living tour (which in actuality was our last stop of our tour last Saturday) lands us at The Legacy at Arts Quarter. As its name suggests, this upscale urban apartment complex is situated squarely within Downtown Oklahoma City’s Arts District. One block to the south is the Civic Center, where we go to see off-broadway shows like Wicked and the upcoming Spamalot as well as Oklahoma City Philharmonic and Canterbury Chorale Society concerts and other similar events. Located on the next block south and east is the Oklahoma City Museum of Art. And Oklahoma City’s other arts and cultural festivals are typically within a short walking distance from this location.

Its location alone makes it a very desired home choice, especially for those of us who work downtown and who attend downtown’s many cultural events. It’s only three blocks from the building I work in, Leadership Square, which would make it a very attractive option if I was in the market because I could easily walk to work and save a lot on gas. More than that, it’s a nice development. In fact, the two-bedroom apartment we looked at was my second favorite of the day. It’s not quite as trendy as the penthouse that I fell in love with, but it is quite nice, it has nice amenities and it is convenient.

Legacy Apartments

The Legacy has a clubhouse that seems similar to what you might find a nicer hotel, with a grand lobby, conference/meeting/banquet rooms and other nice amenities.

Legacy Apartments - Clubhouse Great Hall

The great hall-like lobby of the clubhouse has a balcony/second floor area that has more sitting area and meeting space. The artwork in the lobby was beautiful.

The Legacy also has a nice courtyard with a large patio area and a very inviting pool. The structure on the right side of the picture is a parking garage. Residents have reserved parking on the same level that they live on, which is very convenient, especially when you are carrying items. This was definitely another plus for us in the convenience department.

Legacy Apartments - Poolside

Although not overly spacious, the two-bedroom apartment that we looked at was comfortably roomy. The open floor plan between the kitchen, dining and living areas certainly maximized the roomy feeling. I loved the hanging pot and pan rack above the bar. I’ve always wanted one of those. I also really like the wall colors, with the dominant wall in this space painted a beautiful bold red. There is a small balcony just off the living area.

Legacy Apartment - 2 Bedroom

The spare bedroom in this two-bedroom apartment could easily be used for an office. I really liked the way this room was furnished, as it could easily be a guest bedroom, an office or study, or just a nice little leisure and reading room.

I liked the master suite as well. For some, it may not be big enough, but it’s bigger than what we have now, so we would have no complaints! And again, I could certainly live with the furnishings the decorator put together for this suite as well.

* * *

As I mentioned previously, one of the biggest selling points of The Legacy to me is it’s convenient location. The apparent quality of the apartments and common areas was also a big plus. I probably liked it more than Karla did, but we all seemed to like this one a lot, second only to our beloved penthouse in Block 42!

One more stop on this tour to come…

    My favorite part of this apartment was the kitchen. Although it was small, because it was only separated from the living room by the island, it made it feel much bigger. I really loved the use of black granite-like counter tops and dark cherry cabinets - very classy indeed. I could definitely live here.

    This is my fave, I adore that artwork above the fire in the lobby and would love the pool and parking. I also like the coloured wall, as you will see when you visit us Brad, I have colour everywhere :-)
