When virtual meets reality

It’s a real treat to be able to meet blogging friends. It’s not often for me that my “virtual” and “real” worlds interconnect — that’s not to say that my online and blogging friends aren’t real, but that I rarely get to meet them in the flesh! Fortunately (and conveniently) for me and my blogging wife Karla, one of our blogging friends, BritGal Sarah, invited us to get together and then drove nearly three hours to have lunch with us!
We met up at Penn Square Mall and then had lunch at one of its restaurants, Cantina Laredo. While we enjoyed some Tex-Mex fare, we got to know each other better. BritGal Sarah — (I continue to use “BritGal” because I have to distinguish my online blogger friend from my own daughter Sarah) — and her husband, Gary, were genuinely delightful. So much so, we’ve talked about getting together again this summer, this time we’ll drive to their western Oklahoma town.
Afterward, BritGal Sarah and my girls did some shopping, while Gary and I trailed behind, trying not to look too awkward in the middle of a very girly store. You can read more about our visit over at BritGal Sarah’s blog… she’s a better story teller than I am!
On a related note, here’s a couple more photos I shot on that day at Penn Square Mall while we waiting to meet up.
