(We’re Gonna) ‘Make A Memory’

I am a big Bon Jovi fan. I have been since the mid-1980s when their Slippery When Wet album topped the charts. They have so many great, iconic songs. But, I’m not the only fan in my household. The whole family loves Bon Jovi, including our teenage daughters. They are one of those handful of bands that truly seem timeless.
I love listening to the songs from those early albums because they bring back memories of my high school and college years. And I equally love their songs from their most recent albums. Their latest release is no exception, even if it is “country-fied” as some have described it. Bon Jovi’s Lost Highway is another masterful work of art.
One of my favorite songs on that album is “(You Want To) Make A Memory” (which I’ve embedded the video below). Well, last night, I decided that I wanted to “Make A Memory” for our family. Thanks to an unexpected tax refund stemming from last year’s state tax returns, I was able to surprise Karla and the girls with tickets for our whole family to go see Bon Jovi in concert — on Tax Day, April 15th! Let me tell you that there was squealing and jumping and giddy excitement. They aren’t the best seats in the house — in fact, we may have to bring extra tissues as a precaution of setting in the nosebleed sections — because I waited too long to get the tickets, but it will be a great opportunity to “Make A Memory” as a family.
There’s nothing that brings me more joy and satisfaction than to see my wife and two “daddy’s girls” filled with joy, glee and excitement from surprises like this. And, besides, it’s fun to “Make A Memory.”

I may be sitting down on the outside, but on the inside I’m still jumping up and down! I promise not to drool too much either. LOL THANK YOU!!!
