Just when I thought I was out…

… they pull me back in.

That’s one of my favorite lines from The Godfather Part III. No one utters it better than Al Pacino. You’ll learn, if you spend much time around me (and long enough reading this blog), that I love The Godfather movies — and, I mean love … there’s rarely a month that goes by that I don’t watch one or more parts of this classic trilogy. In fact, even as I was working on this blog last night, I was watching Part I on AMC!

Anyway, I just read back through my last few posts and realized that I’ve been drawn back into political commentary. “Just when I thought I was out… [the political candidates, pundits and blogwriters] pulled me back in.” Our political process is like a nasty infection that you can’t get rid of completely — or at least this recovering political junkie finds it so very difficult.

With this incarnation of my blogging experience, I was hoping to make this more about my everyday life — my experiences, my random observations, my anecdotes. But, alas, this completely fascinating and equally frustrating political campaign just keeps injecting itself into my blog writing. I keep finding myself sucked back into the wider discussion and observations about the ongoing circus. Perhaps it can be attributed to the nearly incessant media coverage that invades my every waking moment.

I apologize. I’ll try to do better. It’s quite possible that my sideshow just isn’t as interesting as the main event. It apparently isn’t to me, based on what I’ve been writing about, so it can’t possibly be as interesting to you. Even so, I’ll do my best to write about things other than politics — if not for my readers’ sanity, then at least for mine! There’s still nine more months of this political zoo, for crying out loud.
P.S. One caveat to this post: I had previously promised to make my official endorsement announcement soon, so that will be forthcoming later this week.

Have I been missing some political commentary? I didn’t think you were focused on it much at all with this site.

No matter how much coverage, not matter how many debates or watching the ridiculous pundits on both sides - I just can’t get enough. And this election is a political junkies dream…

I say let your voice be heard but that is just my opinion (one that is rarely well received).

I have been eagerly awaiting your pronoucement. Now I am thinking it is not Keyes - perhaps Ron Paul?
